Fourteen Andalusian music companies and professionals are gathering in Cádiz and El Puerto de Santa María for the Spain on Stage professional meeting, an initiative focused on the internationalization of Spanish music.

From April 20 to 22, this event brings together various stakeholders from the music industry, covering everything from production and management to distribution and promotion. The participation of Andalusian companies was selected through a public call, aligning with the regional strategy to strengthen the sector's presence in the international arena.
Participating firms and entities include names such as The One Step Beyond, Oh Salvaje, Air Music, Crash Music, and Eureka Discos, alongside other cultural initiatives and independent professionals. All of them will have priority access to the scheduled activities, designed to facilitate contacts and generate business opportunities with international agents.
The event's agenda includes speed meetings scheduled for Tuesday, April 21, at the Bodega de Mora in El Puerto de Santa María. This rapid meeting format will allow Andalusian companies to hold direct interviews with programmers, distributors, and representatives from the international music sector. On Wednesday, activities will continue with collaborative workshops, focusing on current industry challenges and highlighting the Spanish music catalog, especially regarding roots music and its contemporary interpretations.
In addition to its professional component, Spain on Stage also offers a training aspect. The Pedro Muñoz Seca Municipal Theater hosts the workshop ‘Sound Map of Spanish Roots Music,’ led by an expert, which explores the evolution and international projection of these genres. A session on contemporary flamenco is also included, in collaboration with the SGAE, focusing on the reinterpretation of traditional styles from a current perspective.
The event is an initiative of the Monkey Week festival and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sport through the Andalucía.Cultura program. Its main objective is to consolidate the presence of Spanish music abroad, with a special focus on roots musical expressions, such as flamenco, and their adaptation to international circuits. The Junta de Andalucía emphasizes the strategic importance of music within the cultural industry, both for its capacity to generate employment and its role in the external projection of the community. This meeting is conceived as a tool to foster professional exchange and facilitate the distribution of Andalusian music projects in other markets.
The Andalucía.Cultura program, which frames this action, aims to support the internationalization of the Andalusian cultural sector through its participation in fairs, markets, and professional events. The initiative is largely funded by European FEDER funds from the 2021-2027 period, aimed at improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises and fostering their growth in international environments. The celebration of this event in Cádiz and El Puerto de Santa María positions the province as a temporary reference point for the music industry, hosting national and international professionals in a context of exchange, training, and opportunity generation for the sector.
