This initiative, organized by the University Extension Service of the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability and Culture, in collaboration with the Institut Français of the French Embassy in Spain, aims to bring Francophone culture to both the university community and the general public.
The series began on May 5 in the Bolívar hall of the Constitución 1812 Building, on the Cádiz Campus, with the screening of the film La Haine (1995), directed by Mathieu Kassovitz, accompanied by the unreleased short film Fierrot le pou (1990) by the same director. Sessions in Cádiz are held at 6:30 PM.
The program continues on May 6 in the Manuel Asenjo Lecture Hall, located in the Common Services building of the Jerez Campus, where La page blanche (2022), by Murielle Magellan, will be screened. On this campus, screenings begin at 6:00 PM.
The screening schedule at the Cádiz Campus also includes Miséricorde (2024), by Alain Guiraudie, on May 12; Maria (2024), directed by Jessica Palud, on May 19; and the closing of the series on May 26 with La Sirène (2023), by Sepideh Farsi.
All films are presented in their original French version with Spanish subtitles, and admission is free until capacity is reached. This edition expands the number of titles and venues compared to its first call in 2025, incorporating the Jerez Campus as a stable venue and offering a combination of established works and recent productions of contemporary French cinema.
