The incident took place on Calle Ancha, at its junction with San José, a bustling area of the city. Fragments from the cornice fell from the third floor of a property, striking a pedestrian on the street.
Following the alert, firefighters were dispatched to the scene to clear the damaged section of the cornice and prevent further hazards to passersby. Their intervention was vital for ensuring safety in this busy thoroughfare.
According to reports from the Local Police, the affected individual was unexpectedly hit by one of the falling pieces of debris. The operation involved five firefighters and three specialized vehicles: a light urban pumper, a light rescue vehicle, and an aerial ladder.
The emergency teams' actions were crucial in securing the area and preventing additional incidents on this central Cadiz street.
