Dozens of young people in the province of Cádiz have joined forces under the name 'Afectados matrícula PAU error UCA' (Affected by PAU enrollment error UCA) hoping to find a solution after being excluded from the university entrance exams. According to their complaint, they had registered correctly but were unable to complete the enrollment, which had a deadline of May 26.

The affected students maintain that the information they received at their high schools indicated that the enrollment period had no hourly limit. However, the University of Cádiz (UCA) points out that its website clearly specified that the ordinary deadline was until 2:00 PM on May 26. The institution clarifies that the document many students possess is a presentation from an event and not an official brochure.

A mother of one of the affected students told this outlet that recovery exam grades were issued only a few days prior, leaving her son with less than 24 hours to complete the process. They have submitted a written statement to the UCA, arguing that the university's document only stated the date of May 26 as the deadline, without specifying the 2:00 PM cut-off.

This issue affects several dozen students, who will now have to take the PAU in the extraordinary session starting on June 30. They lament that this will prevent them from opting for the most in-demand degree programs, as course selections will be made after other students have already chosen their places.
