The PSOE of Cádiz has denounced the "institutional abandonment" of the Permanent Education Centers (CEPER) in the city of Cádiz, attributing the situation to the Junta de Andalucía and the City Council.

The general secretary of the PSOE of Cádiz has criticized the "unsustainable deterioration" of these facilities, pointing to the "neglect" of the Junta de Andalucía. He also implicated the city's mayor as a "necessary collaborator" due to his alleged refusal to demand the necessary investments for citizens.

"It is inadmissible that groups like the La Levantera student association of CEPER Viento de Levante have to go to the media to denounce that they are teaching in conditions typical of other times."

Among the deficiencies mentioned are the lack of accessibility in buildings without elevators or access ramps, services closed due to poor condition, absence of blinds, ill-fitting windows, and, flagrantly, the use of early childhood education furniture for adults. The socialist spokesperson stated that the mayor has not acted, maintaining a "submissive silence" before the Junta de Andalucía.
The PSOE has reminded that these centers are fundamental for the training, social life, and mental health of hundreds of people, mostly retirees. The "heroic" work of the teaching staff was highlighted, noting that they cannot compensate for the lack of dignified facilities and appropriate furniture.
The party has linked this physical abandonment of the buildings with previous attempts by the Junta in 2024 to impose regulatory changes to cut staff and dismantle the permanent education model. It was suggested that, unable to do so by decree, they are now pursuing the same goal through "suffocation and deterioration of facilities."

"We cannot allow our elders to continue to be disrespected. Public education, whether for young people or adults, must have accessible and dignified facilities."
