The political party aims to ascertain if the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility plans to conduct a specific study on the highway's evacuation capacity and the response of emergency teams during critical situations, such as accidents or fires.
This inquiry follows a recent truck fire on the AP-4, an event that, according to the PP, underscored the operational difficulties faced by firefighters and other emergency services.
“"Cádiz senator Teresa Ruiz-Sillero has expressed concern regarding the province's land communication status, particularly its reliance on the AP-4 as the primary link to the rest of the country. She noted that any significant incident causes major traffic disruptions and can even block the road in one or both directions."
The Popular Party deems it essential to review the infrastructure's safety and explore alternatives to enhance mobility during serious incidents. Proposals include establishing connections or alternative evacuation routes to facilitate links with the national road and prevent the province's isolation when the AP-4 is cut off.
