As August approaches and the summer season reaches its midpoint, the loudspeaker system on Cadiz beaches is beginning to be installed. The City Council has successfully resolved the contract, awarding it to a new company, Fortprotect Sistemas de Seguridad S.L., after reviewing four bids submitted in the tender process initiated in June.
The contract was formalized on July 22. Fortprotect's bid, amounting to 32,186 euros annually compared to the 45,738.94 euros tender price, was deemed feasible by technicians. The company justified its price based on in-house manufacturing of the system, direct supply capacity, equipment amortization over two years, qualified in-house technical team, efficient assembly process, and the use of local resources.
Currently, the contractor's personnel are installing the equipment specified in the tender across the city's beaches. This includes one broadcasting unit and two loudspeakers at La Caleta; six loudspeakers at Santa María del Mar; loudspeakers for ten masts on Victoria beach, along with a base transmitter at the Central Module's Tourism Office; and seven masts with two loudspeakers each on Cortadura beach.
The loudspeaker service, crucial for hourly announcements and various communications related to beach use, is expected to be operational in the coming days. The contract stipulates that the service should have been active since March 29, Easter Sunday, although the procurement process began later. Once operational, the system will function until September 30, 2026. Fortprotect Sistemas de Seguridad S.L. will take over from Rhodas Albañilería en General S.L., which provided the service for the past two summers.
