The Cádiz Provincial Council has launched a plan to incorporate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the development of its public services. This initiative, evaluated by the Digital Administration Committee, will focus on two main lines: optimizing internal administrative processes and extending AI platforms to municipalities and local entities.
The company Epicsa is collaborating on this deployment. Internally, AI will be applied to the administrative processes of the institution's staff. Externally, access to tools like Google's Gemini will be facilitated, which, according to the agreement, will be highly useful for email management and synthesizing information from large document bases using applications like NotebookLM.
The President of the Provincial Council, Almudena Martínez, highlighted that the progressive adoption of these AI tools will lead to reduced timelines in processing files, increased agility and efficiency in public management, and greater certainty and legal security for citizens, professionals, and businesses.
This year, AI agents will be implemented in the development of contracting procedures, specifically for generating report proposals requested from the General Secretariat when a contract file is submitted. These processes will always be carried out under the supervision of public employees, maintaining human responsibility in decision-making, in line with the European AI Regulation.
Another key project involves the creation of a digital twin to be integrated into the eC@diz platform. This resource will facilitate data exploitation through comprehensive data capture and simulation creation to determine optimal solutions rapidly, thereby supporting decision-making.
