With eight matchdays remaining in the 2025-26 season, the team from Cádiz finds itself in a delicate position. A poor run of form, with eleven defeats in thirteen matches during the second half of the season, has diminished their chances and forces them to focus all their energy on avoiding relegation to Primera Federación.
Cádiz CF's performance has been so poor that it could suffer severe consequences if the final standings are decided by the 'goal average' in direct confrontations. Currently, the yellow team has the least favorable 'goal average' in LaLiga Hypermotion, only surpassing Mirandés.
Against Mirandés, Cádiz CF secured victories both at home (1-0) in the first round and in Anduva (0-2) in the second, coinciding with Sergio González's return to the bench. However, the team has lost the 'goal average' against nine opponents, including Real Sociedad B, Eibar, Málaga, Ceuta, Burgos, Granada, Almería, Real Valladolid, and Córdoba. Additionally, they have drawn with three others: Albacete, Huesca, and Real Zaragoza.
The goal difference can be decisive in case of double, triple, quadruple... ties in the table.
Currently, Cádiz CF occupies the eighteenth position with 38 points, with only four teams below them. They are followed by Real Zaragoza with 34 points, and a three-way tie at 32 points between Huesca, Mirandés, and Cultural Leonesa. The margin for error is minimal in this final stretch of the championship.
In the event of a tie with the Aragonese teams, Cádiz CF would have to rely on the overall goal difference. Currently, the yellow team has a -14, Real Zaragoza a -15, and Huesca a -18. The situation with Cultural Leonesa is yet to be determined, as the second-round match is pending, while in the first round, Cádiz CF suffered a home defeat (1-2) against them.
