The regular season in the First and Third Federations has concluded, marking the return of players loaned by Cádiz CF Mirandilla to Atlético Sanluqueño. Both the coaching staff and the footballers come back with a double disappointment: Sanluqueño has been relegated to the Second Federation, and the Cadiz reserve team, weakened by the departure of numerous players, has missed out on promotion.
Between the end of summer and last January, the Cadiz club and Sanluqueño formalized the transfer of players such as Rubén Domínguez, Noah, Samu Almagro, Twizard, Raúl López, Usher Lobede, Marcos Denia, Ismael Álvarez, Luis Simón, and Sergio Niza. Additionally, coaches Pedro Mateos and Jesús Velázquez also joined the Sanluqueño project, leaving Cádiz's youth team with the objective of trying to save the club.
All these operations share a common link: Juan Cala. The sporting director of Cádiz CF and co-owner of Atlético Sanluqueño faces criticism for the negative results in both Sanlúcar and Cádiz, as well as the perception among some Sanluqueño fans that their team has become a mere reserve side.
The green-and-white club has confirmed the return of most of the loaned players, leaving only three contracted players in their squad. Former Cádiz players like Kikín, Julio Cabrera, and Pablo Barea are also departing.
Unless a significant number of these academy players are integrated into the Cádiz CF first team next season, which seems unlikely, the loan policy is considered a failure. The objective of saving Sanluqueño was not achieved, and the contribution of many of the loaned players was modest. Furthermore, a Cádiz CF Mirandilla team that was aiming for the league leadership and direct promotion in the Third Division was weakened.
