The Popular Party in Cádiz has positioned culture as a central theme of its campaign, emphasizing its role as an economic and social driver for the province, with a focus on heritage rehabilitation and supporting local talent.

The political group has underscored the importance of culture for social cohesion, integration, and job creation, as well as for the economic development of the province of Cádiz. Party representatives defended this vision at a recent press conference, where the need to incorporate culture into public debate alongside other key issues such as housing and infrastructure was highlighted.

"In the province of Cádiz, we must talk about culture because there is much to rehabilitate, much to restore, much heritage to disseminate, and much talent to support."

Among the actions promoted by the Junta de Andalucía, significant investments in heritage and rehabilitation in the provincial capital were mentioned, including the Roman Theatre, the Convent of Santa María, and the Tower of San Juan de Dios. Furthermore, support for those who preserve and disseminate Cadiz's culture, such as brotherhoods, confraternities, parishes, and music bands, was emphasized.
Details were provided on subsidy lines for sacred art, with an investment of 970,000 euros between 2020, 2021, and 2025, benefiting municipalities such as Cádiz, Jerez, and San Fernando. Support for music bands was also highlighted, with 34,000 euros invested and grants of 2,500 euros for each of the 14 beneficiary bands, with a call for applications open for 2026.
In the field of archaeology, the total investment in the province amounts to 325,000 euros, with a particular focus on the rock art of Campo de Gibraltar, where 53,000 euros were allocated between 2023 and 2025 for research and restoration. The intervention in the inventory of the heritage of the Parish of Nuestra Señora de la O in Sanlúcar de Barrameda was also cited as an example of the commitment to cultural preservation.
Regarding flamenco, the Junta de Andalucía has invested over 141,000 euros in flamenco clubs and 75,000 euros annually in the Jerez Festival. Other projects include the Algeciras Guitar Festival, the Strategic Flamenco Plan, and the Jerez Flamenco Museum. The provincial Theatre Network will receive an investment exceeding 125,000 euros in 2026, reflecting a commitment to diverse and plural culture.
Finally, investments in heritage sites such as Asta Regia in Jerez de la Frontera, with 1,350,000 euros, and Baelo Claudia, which will receive 1,279,000 euros for rehabilitation and modernization, were underscored. Carteia, with 60,000 euros, and the Paco de Lucía Center in Algeciras were also mentioned as part of the cultural strategy in Campo de Gibraltar.
