The incidents occurred at different points in this emblematic area of the old town of the Cadiz capital. The first alert reached the Emergencias 112 Andalucía service at 11:47 PM on Monday, reporting the burning of containers on Campo del Sur Avenue, opposite San Félix Street.
Immediately, a joint operation involving the Local Police and Firefighters was deployed to extinguish the flames. Following this initial event, new alerts were received for two more container fires, one on Duque de Nájera Avenue and another on Rosa Street, at number 32, on the corner with Martínez Campos Street.
Municipal sources indicated that these episodes do not appear to be isolated incidents. In fact, the Emergencias 112 Andalucía service reported that callers mentioned a man in a black hood as the alleged perpetrator of the fires.
The Local Police identified a person at the scene who could not explain their presence. However, they could not be directly linked to the three fires due to a lack of evidence or witnesses at that time. This identification, nevertheless, will be useful for future investigations if similar incidents recur.
Once the fires were extinguished, municipal cleaning services proceeded to replace the burnt containers and restore normalcy to the affected areas.
