In a challenging labor market context, marked by precariousness, Cáritas Diocesana de Cádiz has reaffirmed its commitment to improving access to employment. Out of the 721 individuals assisted by its Employment Program in 2025, a total of 239 secured a job, representing a 33% overall labor insertion rate.
“"These results confirm the effectiveness of a solidarity economy model focused on people, which promotes autonomy, dignity, and access to rights through decent employment."
The employment program of Cáritas Diocesana de Cádiz offers comprehensive support that combines career guidance, training, and mediation with companies. This personalized service adapts to the needs of each individual and is provided by technical teams in Cádiz, San Fernando, Chiclana de la Frontera, and Algeciras, as well as itinerantly in La Janda and Campo de Gibraltar.
The Cáritas Diocesana de Cádiz Training School played a crucial role, with 232 people participating in training activities during 2025. These included pre-employment workshops, occupational training courses, official certifications, and internships in companies, especially in the hospitality sector. Collaboration with the business fabric of the Diocese was fundamental, contacting over 251 companies and signing 14 labor intermediation agreements, benefiting women, individuals over 45, and those with low qualifications.
The commitment to decent employment extends through Inserta Cádiz S.L., the insertion company of Cáritas Diocesana de Cádiz, dedicated to textile collection and reuse. In 2025, Inserta Cádiz employed 16 people, 10 of whom were in socio-labor insertion positions, facilitating their transition to the ordinary labor market and promoting a circular economy model.
On International Workers' Day, Cáritas, together with the Iglesia por el Trabajo Decente initiative, warned about the persistence of exclusion in the workplace, marked by precariousness, insecurity, and occupational accidents. The organization advocates for a solidarity economy model that prioritizes people's lives, dignity, and safety, promoting decent and rights-based employment as a pillar of a more just society.
