The incorporation, effective since April 12, was announced by the city's mayor, who highlighted the importance of this alliance. The Manuel de Falla Archive Foundation, based in Granada, already includes among its patrons the Granada City Council, the Ministry of Culture, the General Sub-directorate of State Archives, the Andalusian Regional Ministry of Culture, and the University of Granada.
The archive serves as a musical documentation center that preserves the documentary legacy and library of the composer, who was born in Cadiz and spent a significant part of his life in Granada. This union will allow the Cadiz City Council to sign the collaboration protocol already established in Madrid among the other patrons for the organization of commemorative events and activities.
“"The Manuel de Falla Archive is a musical documentation center that preserves the documentary legacy and library of the composer born in Cadiz and who lived for a good part of his life in Granada."
Within the framework of this collaboration, the Cadiz City Council is already working on a special program for the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla's birth, to be celebrated in 2026. This initiative underscores the commitment of both cities, Cadiz and Granada, to the preservation and dissemination of the composer's legacy.
