The central defensive area of Cádiz CF could see significant changes next season, as coach Imanol Idiakez is considering a different profile for the players in that position. Apart from Kovacevic, whose departure through a transfer is possible, the future of the other center-backs is uncertain.
The club from Cádiz has set its sights on Argentine defender Agustín Sienra, who spent last season on loan at CD Castellón. The Valencian team, which competed in the promotion playoffs to the First Division and is managed by former Cádiz player Pablo Hernández, was impressed by the footballer's performance. Sienra played in 26 league matches, starting in 18.
CD Castellón has a purchase option for the player, whose rights belong to the Argentine club Defensa y Justicia. Sienra, 26 years old, can also play as a left-back, offering versatility. He particularly stood out in a playoff match against Almería, where he scored a goal.
Cádiz CF is considering the option of the player extending his experience in Spain with a new loan spell, this time wearing the yellow jersey. Previously, Sienra debuted with the first team of Defensa y Justicia six years ago and also played for clubs such as Villa San Carlos and San Martín de San Juan.
The Andalusian club believes Sienra possesses the desired footballing qualities. Given that Castellón may not exercise its purchase option, Cádiz CF is determined to try and secure this reinforcement.
