Unión Deportiva Las Palmas is the invited opponent for the only summer event of the Trofeo Carranza in Cádiz. The match, kicking off at 9:30 PM, will serve as the official presentation to the fanbase and a final test before Cádiz CF's league debut on August 15 against Celta Fortuna.
After seven preparation games, with two wins, one draw, and four losses, the yellow team is seeking positive momentum. Coach Imanol Idiakez will use the match to finalize the starting lineup, which could serve as a roadmap for the league competition.
UD Las Palmas has included goalkeeper Dinko Horkas in the squad, despite his desire to leave, along with several youth players. Notably absent are Cristian Gutiérrez, who could join Cádiz CF, as well as Jesé Rodríguez, Jeremía Recoba, Viti, Cedeño, Sandro Ramírez, Ale García, and Enrique Clemente, the latter due to injury.
Ticket sales have been marked by controversy over pricing, with season ticket holders required to pay 8 euros and general admission ranging from 15 to 33 euros. There is uncertainty about the fan response given that the opponent, while familiar, does not generate significant excitement.
