The operation consists of 16 personnel from various areas of the Cádiz province, who departed from the fire station located in Jerez. The team is equipped with five specialized vehicles, including a command off-road vehicle, a transport van, and three heavy rural pumpers.
The team's initial destination is the town of El Barraco. Coordination of the efforts will be managed from an Advanced Command Post located in Navaluenga. This collaboration follows a formal request from the Ávila Provincial Council, coordinated through the Spanish Association of Fire Consortiums and Services.
The fire in Burgohondo has exceeded 50,000 hectares of affected land, becoming the largest wildfire recorded in the country. Adverse weather conditions, characterized by high temperatures and strong wind gusts, are significantly hindering control and suppression efforts in the area.
