The Novo Chiclana Football Academy and the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Remedies are organizing this traditional grassroots football tournament at the municipal facilities. The municipal delegate for Sports, Isabel Butrón, accompanied by the director of the Novo Chiclana Academy, Juan Antonio Benítez; the president of the Vipren Foundation, Miguel González, and the senior brother of the Brotherhood, Manuel Moreno, announced the event's celebration.
The tournament will take place throughout the morning and will feature the participation of 24 teams, bringing together approximately 300 boys and girls. The categories represented will be pre-benjamin (four teams), benjamin (ten teams), and alevin (ten teams).
Isabel Butrón highlighted the event's importance for celebrating the city's Patron Saint and promoting grassroots sports, calling it a "meeting place for the youngest to enjoy the sport they love." The public was invited to attend.
Juan Antonio Benítez detailed that teams from Chiclana, Cádiz, San Fernando, Paterna, and the Campo de Gibraltar will participate. He noted that the tournament commemorates the 150th anniversary of Chiclana being granted city status and is very popular, with team slots filled within half an hour of opening registrations.
Miguel González emphasized the Novo Chiclana Academy's work in organizing events for grassroots sports, considering the participating children as "the players of the future."
Manuel Moreno thanked the City Council, the Sports Delegation, Novo Chiclana, and the Vipren Foundation for their support of the initiative and the commemoration of the Patron Saint's festivity.
