The awarding of this contract, which was put out to tender in January, comes after the municipalization of the Home Care Service (SAD) in San Fernando, which occurred in September 2024. The local company Cobros y Cálculos Mercantiles SLU will be responsible for managing key aspects such as payroll, social security, and benefits for the staff.
The SAD staff in San Fernando has seen significant growth, reaching 268 workers, according to data from the San Fernando City Council from last November. This increase is due to the rise in the number of users served, which now totals 788 people.
The labor assistance services contract, valued at 45,738.00 euros, includes an initial period of six months, with the possibility of two one-year extensions. It covers comprehensive payroll management, procedures with the Social Security, continuous labor advice, and the preparation of documentation for inspections and requirements.
The decision to outsource these administrative tasks comes after the San Fernando City Council took over direct management of the service, a process that ended a prolonged labor dispute that had led workers to maintain a 69-day vigil in front of the Consistory, concluding in August 2022 with the announcement of municipalization.
