The program seeks to foster reading and bring literature closer to citizens, offering various options for adults, families, and children. Among the highlighted activities, the Congress Center will host the screening of a documentary about the writer from Cádiz, Elvira Lindo.
On April 22, at 6:00 PM, Elvira Lindo, por ejemplo, un ejemplo will be screened, a production by the Cádiz Provincial Council's Video Service. This documentary explores the life and professional career of the author, known for her character Manolito Gafotas, and includes interviews with the writer herself and her close circle, such as her husband, also a writer, Antonio Muñoz Molina.
Following the screening, the audience will have the opportunity to participate in a discussion with Pedro Ingelmo, the documentary's screenwriter, to delve deeper into the creative process and the author's figure.
For children and families, municipal libraries have prepared oral narration and storytelling sessions. On April 23 and April 24, storyteller Diego Magdaleno will present Cuentos revueltos con pan y pimiento at the Berenguer Library and El Palabrero at the Gravina Street Library, respectively, both at 6:00 PM.
Additionally, the company Valle de Cuentos will offer two storytelling shows: La Pirata Catarata on April 23 at the Gravina Library and Tengo un orangután en mi cuarto on April 24 at the Berenguer Library, also at 6:00 PM. All these activities are free, but require prior registration via email at bibliotecamunicipal@sanfernando.es.
The program concludes with the play Un Quijote de papel, which was performed on Saturday, April 18, at 12:00 PM in the Casa de la Cultura auditorium, with tickets already sold out. This interactive proposal invites spectators to accompany Don Quijote on his adventures, such as the fight against windmills, alongside Sancho Panza and Dulcinea del Toboso.
