“"This Council will defend above all any public manifestation of faith that is done with coherence and preserving the Christian religious sense, be it a procession, a pilgrimage, or any other expression of popular religiosity promoted by any of our brotherhoods. And anything that is not this will be personal tastes or opinions that we will also respect, but from which we will not tolerate outbursts, insults, and, as I say, a lack of respect and basic education towards our brotherhoods."

The president of the Council of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of San Fernando, Eduardo Coto, has called for respect for the brotherhoods following the recent Holy Week, which was marked by controversy over the procession of the Virgen de la Paz.
During the ceremony for the delivery of the 'pastas' to the herald of the Glorias 2026, Moisés Posada, Coto took the opportunity to state the official position of the Council. His statements, the first since the Holy Week celebrations, hold particular significance due to the controversy surrounding the Sevillian-influenced procession of the Virgen de la Paz in its processional debut.
The controversy has led to numerous comments, posts, and memes on social media that, according to Coto, have exceeded the bounds of legitimate debate. The president urged for continued respect for the unique character of the glory brotherhoods and their evangelizing message.
For his part, the herald of the Glorias, Moisés Posada, also referred to the first processional outing of the Virgen de la Paz, congratulating the brothers of Perdón for making history. Posada emphasized that the truly important aspect was the immense beauty and radiance of the image during the procession.
