The cultural agenda, designed for various audiences, is part of the celebrations for the International Museum Day and World Environment Day. Highlights include gamified visits, guided tours, a literary presentation, and a children's workshop, as reported by the City Council.
The first event, ‘In search of the lost temple’, will take place on Saturday, April 25, at 12:00 PM. This interactive visit, aimed at adults, is conceived as a digital game focusing on the figure of Melkart and his temple within the Phoenician historical context.
Coinciding with International Museum Day, from May 14 to 16, free guided tours titled ‘Phoenicians & Cañaillas. A millenary pairing’ will be offered. Participants can explore the Nueva Gadeira Interpretation Center and the Castle Tower. Sessions will be on Thursday and Friday at 6:30 PM and Saturday at 12:30 PM, lasting approximately one and a half hours. Spaces are limited and require prior registration, and will include a tasting of cañaillas at the end.
On May 29 at 7:30 PM, the center will host the presentation of the book ‘The Infinite Museum’ by author Javier Ramírez, with free access until full capacity is reached.
To commemorate World Environment Day, on June 6 at 11:00 AM, the children's workshop ‘Recycled paper and Phoenician writing’ will be held. This activity will combine paper recycling with the practice of Phoenician writing on the crafted material.
The Council has indicated that this program aims to revitalize the municipal center and bring local historical heritage closer to citizens and visitors through informative and participatory proposals. The Nueva Gadeira Interpretation Center is dedicated to highlighting the Phoenician past of the area and is a key cultural and tourist resource for the municipality.
