The incident, which occurred during the morning, left the sole occupant of the property with injuries and burns of varying severity. Emergency services acted swiftly to secure the perimeter and transport the victim to a hospital.
The alert mobilized personnel from the Fire Department Consortium from the Chiclana station to the intersection of Camino Hijuela del Hueveo and Camino Santo Tomás. Upon arrival, crews confirmed the complete structural collapse of the building. The blast wave, presumably caused by a gas cylinder, reduced the house to rubble in a matter of seconds.
Paramedics attended to the owner at the scene before evacuating them by ambulance. Meanwhile, four firefighters and two heavy vehicles worked on clearing and marking the area. This technical work is crucial to prevent additional risks to neighboring residents and to allow investigation by the Local Police and the Civil Guard.
