This initiative is part of the Therapeutic Education Program launched by the hospital's Nephrology Unit in 2024. The main goal is to promote self-care and provide practical tools to individuals with chronic kidney disease to improve their daily well-being.
During the session, attendees received guidance on fluid intake control, ingredient selection, and adapting recipes to the dietary restrictions required by hemodialysis treatment. These recommendations are essential to prevent health complications and ensure proper adherence to medical treatment.
The event featured a multidisciplinary approach, integrating the perspectives of healthcare professionals and nutrition specialists. Beyond technical aspects, the program addresses the emotional and social impact of dietary limitations, providing a support space for both patients and their families.
This collaboration between Puerto Real Hospital and ALCER strengthens the support network outside the clinical setting, ensuring care that is closer and better adapted to the real needs of chronic patients in the province of Cádiz.
