The Spanish Government has granted Chiclana 1,116,329 euros for the implementation of employment plans, aimed at hiring unemployed individuals and recovering areas affected by adverse weather phenomena.

The Chiclana City Council has announced the receipt of a direct subsidy of 1,116,329 euros from the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy. These funds will be used for hiring unemployed people for reconstruction tasks in municipalities affected by various adverse weather events, particularly in Andalusia and Extremadura.
Chiclana, which was affected by the storm season last winter, will receive this aid, broken down into a guaranteed amount of 930,274 euros and an additional 186,055 euros. The mayor, José María Román, accompanied by delegates Jose Vera and Manuela Pérez, explained that work is already underway to present a program for hiring staff for six months, in compliance with current agreements.
Román emphasized the importance of these employment plans, which will be operational for the autumn-winter season, a period typically marked by a decline in tourism and employment, thus offering alternatives for job creation. Projects for job creation can be submitted until the end of August, as detailed by Jose Vera, who added that work is being done on the profiles to be hired, contribution groups, working hours, and labor costs.
The profiles eligible for hiring, as published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), include administrative and workshop managers, uncertified assistants, administrative officers, subordinates, administrative assistants, first, second, and third-class officers, specialists, laborers, and workers under 18 years of age. Hired individuals must be registered as job seekers.
This new subsidy is in addition to others previously granted by the Spanish Government to Chiclana, including 18.84 million euros for road repairs, improvement of the rainwater network, environmental actions, and municipal building repairs, as well as over 500,000 euros from the Junta de Andalucía and another 1.2 million euros from the Spanish Government to address storm damage.
