Following the contract award to Tech Friendly last June, municipal representatives, technicians, Chiclana Local Police, and the public transport concessionaire have met to begin drafting the new document.
The Municipal Delegate for Mobility, José Vera, emphasized the importance of planning, mentioning other ongoing projects like the POU, the Urban Agenda, and the Climate Change Plan. He indicated that the new Mobility Plan will heavily involve entities and residents, with meetings scheduled after the summer.
José Vera highlighted that a city like Chiclana, with nearly 100,000 inhabitants and reaching 250,000 in summer, requires rigorous technical planning to make sound decisions and position itself at the forefront of the 21st century.
The plan's development is divided into three phases: analysis and diagnosis of the current situation, definition of objectives and action plan, and monitoring and evaluation with corrective measures.
Mobility flows within the municipality will be studied, covering the urban center, residential and peri-urban areas, accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists, public transport, personal mobility vehicles, and environmental aspects.
