The municipal delegate for Animal Welfare, María José Batista, announced the initiative at a press conference, explaining that the slogan emphasizes owners' responsibility. "Because abandoning animals when we go on vacation should never be an option," she stated.
Batista recalled that the council has an animal collection service throughout the year, but noted that the number of abandonments significantly increases in July and August. "It is unacceptable for people to leave animals helpless, and that is why animal abandonment is not part of our policy," the delegate emphasized.
The councilor stressed that there are "many options" to avoid abandonment and called on citizens and visitors to prevent such actions. "Together, we must create a Chiclana that shines for animal welfare," she concluded.
