The project, with a budget of 75,988 euros, is funded through a grant for tourist municipalities in Andalusia. The new pieces, standing over two meters tall, will follow the aesthetic and technical standards established in the first phase of the project, which focused on the figure of Melkart.
The sculptures will depict the goddess Astarte, as well as historical figures Hannibal, Julius Caesar, and Alexander the Great. According to municipal plans, the Astarte figure will be installed near the new river footbridge on Reyes Católicos Avenue, while the final locations for the other three pieces are yet to be determined.
This collection aims to highlight the town's 3,000-year history and its connection to the Sancti Petri Castle. The initiative is part of a municipal strategy to enhance the urban landscape and promote cultural interest through public art installations.
