The agreement, signed by Mayor José María Román and AGADER president Antonio Barbosa, aims to develop a project for advising, processing, and managing pensions for returned emigrants in the town. The council is providing a municipal premises on Fuente Amarga road for this purpose.
AGADER has been working on this project since 2003, offering information and support to emigrants returning to Spain, particularly regarding the processing of their pensions and corresponding benefits.
Mayor Román highlighted the importance of remembering the emigration of Spaniards, including those from Chiclana, in the 1960s and 70s, and the role of associations like AGADER in advising those who receive pensions from other countries. "Today we have signed an agreement to help them with the processing of pensions and other administrative procedures," he stated.
Antonio Barbosa expressed gratitude for the "important aid" received, which will enable the association to continue its work. For his part, AGADER's lawyer, César Gutiérrez, emphasized the City Council's involvement and the necessity of having technicians and a specific office to ensure members do not lose their pensions.
