The Sports Delegation joins the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the granting of the City title to Chiclana by organizing the first edition of the Night Race 150 Years Chiclana City. The event will take place on Saturday, August 29, starting at 9:30 PM, on La Barrosa beach.
The head of the department, Isabel Butrón, described it as a "very special" race and highlighted the collaboration of the various athletics clubs of Chiclana, the Andalusian Athletics Federation, Fibra Sancti Petri, and the Organizing Committee for the 150th Anniversary of the Chiclana City Title.
The race will start and finish on La Barrosa Beach, near the Plaza de Las Banderas. Participants will cover a distance of 5,000 meters along the shore and part of the promenade, with a route that includes heading towards the Primera Pista, returning to calle Boquerón, and back to the Plaza de Las Banderas.
As a significant portion of the route is in unlit areas, the use of a headlamp or suitable lighting for night sports will be mandatory. Butrón noted that a "spectacular image is expected of hundreds of athletes with headlamps running on the sand of La Barrosa beach under the full moon".
Despite not being part of the popular race circuit, the event already has over 400 registered athletes. Registration remains open until Friday, August 28, via the provided link.
