The municipal delegate for Festivals, Fede Díaz, and the president of the Perico Alcántara Carnival Association, José Ruiz, have presented the seventeenth edition of the Noche de los Capachas. The event will be held on August 21st at 9:30 PM at the town's Football Field.
The event, organized by the Peña Carnavalesca Perico Alcántara, will feature performances by the Chiclana carnival groups ‘Los que la tienen de mármol’ and ‘Los Compays’. During the ceremony, the ‘Capacha del Año’ distinction will be awarded to the Chiclana venenciador Jesús Tocino.
Fede Díaz highlighted that it will be a “very Chiclana” night, thanking the Peña Carnavalesca Perico Alcántara for “the energy they have and for instilling that Carnival spirit in the new generations”. The delegate reaffirmed the commitment of the government team to continue supporting Chiclana's Carnival.
For his part, José Ruiz noted that the appointment of Jesús Tocino as ‘Capacha del Año’ was a success, describing him as a “Chiclana native who needs no introduction and who carries the name of Chiclana beyond our city and Spain”. He invited citizens to “enjoy the Noche de los Capachas”.
Jesús Tocino expressed his excitement and pride upon receiving the award, emphasizing its personal importance as it evokes childhood memories of working in the vineyard. He thanked the Peña Perico Alcántara, a benchmark for him in Chiclana's Carnival since his childhood.
