The municipal delegate for Economic Development, Manuela Pérez, has announced the second edition of the Chiclana Moscatel Festival, scheduled for July 29th. The event will span two key locations: the Wine and Salt Interpretation Center and the Plaza de Las Bodegas.
The day will commence at 7:00 PM at the Wine and Salt Center with a tasting of Chiclana's Moscatel. Later, at 9:00 PM, the festivities will move to the Plaza de Las Bodegas. Three Chiclana wineries will participate: Cooperativa Unión de Viticultores Chiclaneros, represented by José Reyes; Bodegas Primitivo Collantes, led by Primitivo Collantes; and Bodega Manuel Aragón, represented by Encarni Quevedo.
During the festival, attendees can enjoy a free tasting of up to 15 liters of Moscatel, served by three venenciadores (wine pourers). Each winery will also have its own stand for product sales.
Complementing the wine, there will be gastronomic stalls offering products from carnicería El Colinero, Hornos La Española, Empanadería Antonia Butrón, and Quesos Los Hardales. Visitors can purchase a commemorative festival glass for three euros. The evening will be accompanied by music from the Asociación Chiclanera del Jazz.
Manuela Pérez highlighted the success of the inaugural event and explained that advancing the date to late July aims to capitalize on tourist arrivals to promote Chiclana's high-quality wines. Primitivo Collantes emphasized the initiative's goal to strengthen the Moscatel variety, a signature of the local wineries, particularly in a significant venue like the Plaza de Las Bodegas.
