The municipal subsidy will help cover essential expenses such as electricity, water, diesel fuel, and medical supplies for the center, whose budget amounts to 10,000 euros. The association, for its part, will continue to provide comprehensive care to individuals suffering from Alzheimer's or other dementias, as well as to their relatives and main caregivers.
Mayor José María Román described the agreement as "very interesting for Chiclana and for the families of the La Aurora association." He highlighted the work of the people involved in the center and noted that there are currently 35 out of 70 contracted places, with the goal of the Regional Government increasing this number to 50.
The councilor emphasized the importance of support not only for the patients but also for the families, "who need to take a breath to manage the illness in the best possible way." He pointed out that in the Los Gallos area, there are "four very powerful facilities for social integration and care for the sick."
Regla Periñán, president of the association, thanked the City Council for "the collaboration they have always shown us" and expressed pride in the center's operation, "thanks to the magnificent team in place."
The center's manager, Irene Pérez, highlighted the work of the "wonderful team" of both the association and the technical staff, focusing on users and psychological support for families. She confirmed the intention to "expand the concert from 35 to 50 places," hoping they will be filled soon.
