AxSí denounces vehicle abandonment in San Fernando and lack of local police resources

The Andalucist municipal group will present a motion at the next plenary session to demand a specific plan for the removal of deteriorated cars.

The municipal group AxSí has reiterated its complaint about the proliferation of abandoned vehicles in San Fernando, accusing the local government of hiding the lack of resources within the Local Police to address the issue.

The councilor for the municipal group AxSí, Lolo Picardo, has insisted on the Andalucists' public complaint regarding the proliferation of abandoned vehicles in various parts of the city. Picardo has emphasized the "lack of management and resources" currently available to tackle this problem. The Andalucist party has announced that it will proceed with its plans to bring a motion to the next plenary session to seek solutions to this issue, despite statements from the municipal government team which claimed that a plan and a service for the removal of these vehicles already existed.
AxSí believes that "the reality is evident and is on the street," pointing out that numerous neighborhoods have had abandoned vehicles occupying parking spaces for months, some in advanced states of deterioration and accumulating dirt around them. "The problem cannot be hidden, because residents see it daily. There are abandoned cars all over the city, and the municipal response is slow and insufficient," Picardo emphasizes.
The party also recalls that the administrative procedure for the removal of these vehicles requires them to be previously declared as urban solid waste so that they can be removed and destroyed by the company awarded the service. According to the Andalucists' complaint, this process "is being slowed down by a lack of specific personnel and the loss of operational units dedicated to these tasks."
In this regard, AxSí stresses that the disappearance of specialized services and the overload of functions within the Local Police are hindering the response capacity to everyday problems that directly affect the city's cleanliness, mobility, and image.

"We will defend a motion in the next plenary session requesting a specific plan for the detection and removal of abandoned vehicles, the reinforcement of human and material resources, and greater administrative coordination to expedite procedures and reduce response times. The citizens deserve a well-maintained city, with effective public services and a government that confronts problems instead of denying them."
