The Martos City Council has conducted a new follow-up session for the II Equality Plan. The meeting, organized through the technical commission and the monitoring committee, primarily aimed to understand and assess the development of actions carried out during the plan's first year of implementation. Progress achieved was analyzed, and potential needs were identified to ensure its continuity.
Representatives from various municipal departments, as well as associations and entities linked to equality, participated in the session. This gathering served as a space for sharing information, evaluating actions, and coordinating the activities undertaken.
During the opening, the Councilor for Equality, Ana Matilde Expósito Sabariego, emphasized the importance of regular monitoring of the Plan to verify its execution status and the effectiveness of its measures. She highlighted the work accomplished in the first year and encouraged technical staff and participating associations to maintain their involvement and coordinated efforts to advance equality in the municipality.
Among the topics discussed, the need to strengthen equality training and awareness within municipal departments was raised. To achieve this, specific meetings were proposed to inform about the II Equality Plan, its objectives, and the measures applicable to each department.
The meeting also served to underscore the crucial role of social associations and entities, as well as the importance of maintaining coordination and collaboration channels between them and the City Council. The goal is for the II Plan to become a dynamic and practical document.
“"From the Equality Department, we will continue working on the development and monitoring of the II Equality Plan, strengthening coordination between the different municipal areas and participating entities, and promoting new actions that allow us to move towards a more egalitarian society committed to equality between women and men."
