The route for the Jaén Half Marathon and 10K, scheduled for next Sunday, November 15, will undergo a "small modification" due to ongoing works in Plaza de la Constitución. The Councilor for Sports has indicated that this adjustment will allow for greater prominence to be given to a representative neighborhood like San Ildefonso.
The organization is committed to having the circuit homologated by the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. "From the outset, we announced that this special edition would feature an homologated route, and that commitment remains even with the new course," the councilor stated.
Currently, the homologation procedures are being finalized. "We have worked with sufficient foresight and anticipation to adapt the route to this circumstance, planning the necessary changes so that the event proceeds with all organizational, technical, and safety guarantees," she added.
Specifically, the new route will have participants bypass Plaza de la Constitución and instead go through Tablerón and Teodoro Calvache streets, Plaza de San Ildefonso, and Ignacio Figueroa street. The rest of the single-lap course remains unchanged.
