The first deputy mayor and councilor for Culture, María Espejo, along with the director of the Raquel Damas Dance School, has presented the third edition of the 'Jaén Baila por Sevillanas' flashmob. This initiative aims to fill Roldán y Marín street with dance and tradition for the San Lucas Fair 2026. The event will take place this Saturday, October 10th, starting at 12:30 PM.
The proposal is part of 'Jaén Baila en Feria', an initiative that seeks to bring culture, dance, and fair-related traditions closer to citizens, taking them out of their usual spaces and into the heart of the city, led by prominent dance academies like Raquel Damas'.
The day will begin at 12:30 PM with a performance by the students and professionals of the Raquel Damas School, who will present an exhibition combining contemporary dance, flamenco, and urban dance, showcasing the talent and potential of dance in the city.
Following the exhibition, the third edition of the 'Jaén Baila por Sevillanas' flashmob, promoted by Raquel Damas, will take place. The councilor encouraged the residents of Jaén to join this initiative, which aims to turn the street into a meeting point for music, dance, and tradition.
Raquel Damas thanked the City Council for their collaboration in making this event possible, which aims to bring people together through one of Andalusia's most popular dances. "Sevillanas are a very Andalusian, popular, lively, and fun dance. Your skill level doesn't matter; the point is to unite, enjoy, and dance sevillanas at our fair," she stated.
The director of the Dance School emphasized that the flashmob is designed as an open activity for everyone, regardless of prior dance experience, because "the important thing is to participate and enjoy the San Lucas Fair together." She encouraged the residents of Jaén to come to Roldán y Marín this Saturday and become protagonists of the celebration.
