The Ministry of Public Works and Mobility, through the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Jaén area, has organized an extraordinary bus service to facilitate access to the San Bartolomé Fair and Festivities in Martos, taking place from August 21 to 23. Territorial delegate Miguel Contreras highlighted the objective of providing safe, sustainable, and economical transportation for attendees.
Special services have been scheduled for all three days. On Friday, August 21, routes originating from Jaén and heading to Martos will be reinforced at 9:15 PM and 9:55 PM. On both Saturday, August 22, and Sunday, August 23, there will be special services at 7:30 AM from Martos to Jaén.
On Saturday, the 7:00 AM service will be intensified with two additional vehicles, plus a new departure at 7:30 AM, while maintaining the usual 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM services. The 9:15 PM departure from Jaén will also be reinforced. On Sunday, morning routes will include departures at 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, and 8:45 AM.
This plan will mobilize eight more vehicles than during a typical summer weekend, doubling the available seat capacity. Miguel Contreras explained that this measure aims to offer an alternative to private vehicle use, thereby avoiding traffic congestion and parking issues.
Meanwhile, the Consortium's General Manager, Sergio López, will request the collaboration of the Martos City Council to enhance services at the municipal bus station and ensure the proper functioning of this special fair operation.
Service users will be able to continue using their Metropolitan Transport Consortium card for the Jaén area, benefiting from the current subsidy system. It is reminded that since January 2024, with the tariff integration of Martos's urban transport, users can make reduced-price transfers within the stipulated times.
