The walls of the Martos Youth House now feature two impressive artistic murals reflecting values of unity, togetherness, and common purpose. Local artists Cristina Valdivia and Patricia Jiménez are behind this transformation, capturing the essence and spirit of this youth space, designed as a place for everyone.
The Area Councilor, Ana Matilde Expósito, expressed her gratitude to Cristina Valdivia for her work, stating, "Cristina and Patricia have championed diversity and inclusion. They have imprinted the fundamental idea that the Youth House embodies." The councilor added, "It is wonderful to see how two such young women have such artistic talent. I am very grateful that our boys and girls, the youth of Martos, are involved in this space, a space designed for them, and who better than them to shape it and make it their home."
Cristina Valdivia, who apologized for her friend Patricia's absence, explained the core message of the murals: "We started from the premise that it had to be something that represented everyone, so we drew the map. We wanted to use many colors to represent that the Youth House is a space for all of us."
Similarly, Valdivia emphasized the Youth House's aim to become a key meeting point for young people. "They offer us a space to learn and through their clubs. They help people integrate, and this is very important in this individualistic world we live in. Our message is that there are always people willing to meet us and help us because we are not alone," she concluded.
