The festival, part of the Diputación de Jaén's Vive Castillos y Batallas program, will take place around the Fortaleza Baja, the Santuario de la Virgen de la Villa, and its surrounding viewpoints. Mayor Emilio Torres, councilwoman Elena Molina, and deputy Inés Arcos presented the schedule, emphasizing the focus on local heritage and economic revitalization.
The program includes circus and acrobatics shows for children, as well as offerings for all audiences. A space will be dedicated to local artisans and a tavern with music, along with the opening of the Torre del Homenaje (Keep Tower).
The festival will also feature concerts by Martos artists and groups, reinforcing the commitment to local talent. The mayor expressed confidence in repeating the success of previous editions, which drew numerous residents and visitors.
Deputy Inés Arcos highlighted that the event aims to transform the old town into a vibrant and useful space, connecting heritage with the present and future. "To speak of Martos' old town is to speak of this city's history, its roots," she stated, emphasizing the importance of protecting and making this historical complex accessible.
Arcos added that the festival is a commitment to economic and social revitalization, supporting local businesses, hospitality, and artisans. The involvement of associations, groups, and residents aims to strengthen the community and use culture as a tool for participation and cohesion.
