The results of the Martos cultural contests and events for 2026 are now available for consultation and download. These events, spanning multiple artistic disciplines, have concluded with the selection of the winning works and authors following the deliberations of their respective juries.
In the literary sphere, the international L Ciudad de Martos Literary Contest has awarded the short story “Autólisis” by Adriana Hernández Planillas from Barcelona, with a prize of €3,000 and a diploma. The jury highlighted its technical quality, solid voice, and well-crafted narrative architecture.
Meanwhile, the XLVII Manuel Garrido Chamorro Poetry Contest recognized the poetry collection “Azul antes que óxido” by Pedro Jesús Moriche Hermoso, an Extremaduran residing in Seville. The prize, amounting to €1,000 and a diploma, was awarded to this work exploring rural and family memory.
The XLIV Ciudad de Martos Photography Contest awarded the photograph “Inquebrantable” with the first prize, by author Juan Manuel Fernández Castillo. The second prize went to María del Carmen Armenteros Armenteros for “El camino”, and the third to María Dolores Ruiz Luque for “Momento en blanco y negro”. The participating works will be exhibited at the Casa Municipal de Cultura.
In the LIV Ciudad de Martos Painting Contest, the first prize, endowed with €4,000 and a diploma, was awarded to the work “Malvaloca” by María Rosa Cano Delgado from Granada. The painting is inspired by folklore and recreates a contemporary theatrical scene.
The XX Peña de Martos Sculpture Biennial honored the work “Herencia y decisión ética” by Francisco Pascual Gómez Sales from Murcia, with a prize of €2,000 and a diploma. An exhibition of the selected works will be open from August 7th to 31st.
The XLIV San Bartolomé Fair Poster Contest saw the poster titled “El suelo que nos une” by Natalia Mora García from Martos, as the winner. The prize includes €600 and a diploma.
In the XXXVIII Children's and Youth Literature Contest, a local event, the sole submission in the 12-17 age category, “Las cicatrices de las estrellas”, received an award of a book lot and a diploma. Its author is Emma Castellano Torres, a student at IES Fernando III in Martos.
Finally, the XLVI Olive Festival Poster Contest awarded the poster “Marteños Aceituneros” by Celeste Murillo Rosa from Madrid, with €600 and a diploma. The jury encouraged greater participation in future editions.
The XVII San Juan Fair Poster Contest 2026 granted its award, a book lot and diploma, to poster number 3, created by Juana Mulero Cano, a student from the Martos City Council's Painting School.
