This humanization initiative, which has already benefited nearly a hundred children, is carried out in the Pediatrics and Mental Health areas. The sessions, lasting approximately 45 minutes, are tailored to each patient's specific needs to reduce anxiety and stress levels associated with the care process.
The program combines recreational activities with interventions aimed at physical and functional recovery. The animals accompany children during recovery processes and in preparation for surgical procedures, facilitating a more positive hospital stay. Additionally, interaction with the dogs is used as a support tool in Mental Health therapy sessions.
The project is developed in collaboration with the Hachiko association, which specializes in these interventions, and is financially supported by the company Maxcolchón. The participating dogs undergo all necessary veterinary checks and Preventive Medicine protocols to ensure safety within the healthcare environment.
