The Youth Department of the Villa del Río Town Hall has announced the renewal of the 'Young Municipality' distinction. This recognition, granted by the Andalusian Youth Institute (IAJ), rewards the municipality's commitment to youth policies and the provision of services for young people.
The Provincial Coordinator of the IAJ in Córdoba, José Carlos García García, visited the town to hold a working meeting with the mayor, Jesús Morales Molina, and the Youth Councilor, Almudena Mantilla Pérez. The meeting addressed topics such as collaboration on joint projects and activities.
Progress was also made on the administrative process for Villa del Río to regain its status as a Eurodesk point. The preparation of the necessary documentation to rejoin this European youth information network was carried out with the support of García García.
The recovery of this service will facilitate young people in Villa del Río's access to information on European programs, mobility, training, volunteering, and exchanges.
The IAJ renewed the 'Young Municipality' distinction, which highlights local entities with youth services and an active commitment to this group. José Carlos García emphasized the real commitment of Villa del Río and its Town Hall to its young residents.
Jesús Morales Molina, the mayor, had contacted the IAJ at the beginning of the regional legislature to address youth concerns, with the Institute reaffirming its willingness to collaborate.
