The mayor of Villa del Río, Jesús Morales Molina, formalized the signing of the «Diputación Invierte 2026» Plan last Friday, July 31, 2026. Through this plan, the council will receive a subsidy of €235,792 from the Provincial Council of Córdoba to execute fourteen actions aimed at improving the municipality's services, facilities, and public spaces.
In the Security and Citizen Mobility area, €13,990 will be allocated to the acquisition of a vehicle for the Local Group of Civil Protection Volunteers, to enhance their intervention and service resources.
The Housing and Urban Planning area will concentrate an investment of €104,119.18. This amount will be distributed between hiring public works personnel for street maintenance (€56,119.18) and asphalting works on various public roads (€48,000).
For Community Welfare and Street Cleaning, €19,484.80 will be invested in improving municipal cleaning services. This includes the purchase of an electric leaf blower (€2,448) and contracting a cleaning organization service (€17,036.80).
In Environment matters, €13,612.50 will be allocated to the supply and installation of water meters in family gardens, promoting better consumption control and more efficient water resource management.
The Education area will receive €9,761.03 for the supply and installation of surveillance cameras at the CEIP Poeta Molleja, thereby reinforcing the security of the educational facilities.
In Culture and Children's Spaces, €9,153.96 will be invested in replacing the rubber flooring in the playgrounds located in the ONCE square and the Infant School area.
The Sports area will have an investment of €16,369.93 for two actions: installing emergency lights in the indoor swimming pool (€4,761.19) and installing new flooring in the aerobics room and nets on the multi-sport courts (€11,608.74).
In Commerce and Market Hall, €17,387.70 will be invested in installing an air conditioning system in the Municipal Market Hall, improving the building's conditions for merchants, workers, and users.
The Economic Development area will receive €15,590 for the hiring of support staff, strengthening the management of municipal initiatives related to business and commercial activity.
Finally, in Municipal Buildings and Facilities, €16,322.90 will be invested in repairing the public address system in the Plenary Hall (€1,657.70) and installing air conditioning units in the offices of the Civic Center (€14,665.20).
These investments will allow for the continued improvement of public services and address specific needs in areas such as security, urban maintenance, cleaning, environment, education, sports, commerce, and economic development. The Villa del Río City Council will initiate the necessary procedures for the contracting and execution of these actions.
