The Town Hall of Villa del Río hosted the II Regional Meeting for Health and Well-being in the Alto Guadalquivir on September 19th, an event that brought together associations, professionals, and institutions to promote health and healthy habits.

Under the slogan «Health Unites the Alto Guadalquivir Region», Villa del Río became a meeting point to share experiences, discover resources, and highlight the work of the regional associative fabric. The event was attended by institutional authorities such as Mayor Jesús Morales Molina and the territorial delegate for Health and Consumption of the Junta de Andalucía in Córdoba, María Jesús Campos Aguilera.
The day gave special prominence to health-related associations, recognizing their work in supporting individuals and families, promoting projects, and building a more solidary society committed to well-being. Numerous associations from Villa del Río, Villafranca de Córdoba, Pedro Abad, Montoro, Cañete de las Torres, and Adamuz participated.
The meeting included a healthy breakfast, an institutional opening in the Town Hall's Plenary Hall, and the presentation of diplomas for the «For a Million Steps» initiative, which recognized 62 participants for achieving 4,588,396 steps, emphasizing the importance of physical activity.
Working sessions were held on «Mental and Emotional Health», addressing emotional well-being and support networks, with participation from professionals of the Andalusian Health Service and representatives from the Semillas del Futuro Association and AFEPN. The «Flavors of Yesterday, Health of Today» session connected nutrition and healthy habits with traditional customs.
At the end of the sessions, recognition plaques were presented to the participating associations. Subsequently, attendees shared a healthy lunch and visited the Municipal Historical Museum «Casa de las Cadenas», enjoying the exhibition from the VIII National Painting Contest «Pedro Bueno» and the permanent collections.
The day concluded at the Olimpia Theater with the performance of «A Midsummer Night's Dream», an adaptation of William Shakespeare's play by Aracne Teatro, providing a cultural finale to the event.
The Town Hall of Villa del Río thanked all associations, professionals, institutions, and individuals who contributed to the success of this second edition, highlighting the fundamental work of associations in improving the quality of life for many people and families.
