“"What the public probably couldn't imagine is that there was a responsibility of the Junta de Andalucía on this matter that was not being told, that, moreover, was being hidden, and that has not yet been made available to either the commission or the victims."

The general secretary of the PSOE-A, María Jesús Montero, and the leader of Por Andalucía, Antonio Maíllo, have urged the Junta de Andalucía to clarify the management of emergency services following the tragic train accident in Adamuz on January 18.
The opposition in Andalusia has reacted strongly to a letter submitted by the victims of the Adamuz accident to the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno. This document questions alleged delays in the response of emergency services, specifically the 061 and 112, after the incident that, according to the text, claimed 46 lives.
From Cádiz, María Jesús Montero, general secretary of the PSOE-A, accused the Andalusian Government of having "concealed" its "responsibility" regarding the conduct of these services. The socialist leader highlighted that the Adamuz Derailment Victims Association has called for a thorough investigation and the assignment of political and legal responsibilities.
Montero also criticized President Moreno Bonilla's attitude, noting that he "ignores the issue" when he has direct responsibility and offers no explanations. She stressed that despite the Junta demanding explanations from the Spanish Government and participating in the judicial proceedings, the victims themselves denounce the lack of loyalty in the information provided by the 112 and 061.
Meanwhile, Antonio Maíllo, Por Andalucía's candidate for the presidency of the Junta, urged Juanma Moreno to "explain why emergency services" and victim care failed. Maíllo, also federal coordinator of Izquierda Unida, emphasized that the victims' families "deserve answers" and that "disorganization and the loss of resources" in public services lead to such situations.
The leader of Por Andalucía proposed strengthening the 061 service to prevent system failures and improving the working conditions of 112 employees. He concluded by warning that his party will not stop until "the whole truth" about the Junta de Andalucía's actions is known, seeking accountability and guarantees that a similar event will not happen again.
