The 12th Montoro Popular Night Race marked the resumption of the Provincial Circuit of Popular Races of Córdoba. The event, held in the Cordoban town, saw Jesús Alguacil and Sonia Navío crowned as the overall winners.
In the men's competition, Jesús Alguacil, an athlete from Trotasierra, demonstrated his dominance by setting a high pace from the start, finishing the race in 32:46. Second place went to Diego de la Fuente (Atletismo Surco Lucena) with 33:55, followed by Pedro Catena (Trotasierra Hornachuelos) in third with 34:07.
The women's category featured a very close and exciting finish. Sonia Navío (CD Avionetas) took the win in the final meters with her speed, clocking in at 42:09. Lisa Esquivel (Trotasierra) secured second place with 42:16, and Alba Romero (Andalucía Fomenta) completed the podium with 42:46.
This race serves as a prelude to the next event on the calendar, the 14th Go Fit Córdoba Popular Race Memorial Carlos Gallardo, scheduled for this Sunday in the provincial capital.
