The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has urged the Spanish Government to take responsibility for the tragic railway accident that occurred in Adamuz, Córdoba, on January 18.

The demand comes after the central Executive attempted to question the swiftness of the Andalusian 112 Emergency Service's response. Moreno, during a pre-campaign event at the Parador de Turismo de Córdoba, criticized the Government for failing to provide answers or certainty to the victims' families and society more than three months after the incident.

"Has anyone assumed political responsibility? Is there any explanation?"

Given the lack of responses, the Andalusian president has urged the Government to reveal «the truth, the whole truth» of what happened, as requested by the affected families. He also called on the Executive to begin assuming its responsibilities for the Adamuz accident.
The leader of the Popular Party in Spain, who closed the party's Intermunicipal meeting in Córdoba alongside Moreno, also spoke forcefully. He criticized that the accident «proves there was inadequate maintenance» of the railway network, pointing to potential negligence in infrastructure.

"Even if the Spanish Government is determined to cover up the evidence, eventually everything will be known."

The national leader of the Popular Party concluded by regretting that, while the victims' lives cannot be restored, at least «the president of Andalucía can look all the victims' families in the eye,» suggesting a contrast with the central Government's stance.
