The procurement process, handled as an urgent service contract, is in its final stage following the Contracting Board meeting held on May 20. The final execution of these works is now subject to validation by the Montoro court, which is overseeing the judicial investigation into the events of January 18.

To ensure maximum independence and reliability, two separate entities have been contracted: a public entity based in Madrid and a private company located in O Porriño, Galicia. Both were selected based on their technical accreditation and lack of conflicts of interest regarding the parties involved in the accident or the line's renovation works.

The goal is to conduct tests in parallel. The first laboratory will perform initial non-destructive tests, such as visual inspection and scanning, while the second will supervise the process. Subsequently, samples will be extracted for independent analysis, with technicians from both entities acting as observers during critical phases to ensure the transparency of the procedure.
