The Consejería de Sanidad of the Junta de Andalucía has expanded the food alert issued on July 24, due to the detection of Listeria monocytogenes in cured meat products manufactured by a company from Granada.
As a result of follow-up investigations, new non-compliant results have been identified in different batches and products from the same company. The affected products are: Iberian Fuet brand I.C. Sierra Nevada (batch 260611, expiry date 11/12/2026), distributed in Granada (Granada, Láchar) and Sevilla (Arahal).
Also included are: Rustic Salchichón brand Alta Coloma (batch 260527, expiry date 27/11/2026), distributed in Granada (Montejícar, Guadahortuna, Gobernador) and Jaén (Santa Elena, Jaén, Huelma, Arjona, Bailén); and Spicy Chorizo Sausage brand Alta Coloma (batch 260520, expiry date 20/11/2026), distributed in Granada (Guadahortuna, La Peza, Granada, Lanjarón, Alfacar, Montejícar, Santa Fé, Benalúa de las Villas) and Jaén (Jaén, Cambil).
As a precautionary measure and to ensure consumer health, a temporary cessation of the production of at-risk products has been agreed with the manufacturing company. Public Health recommends not consuming these products and returning them to the point of purchase.
Those who have consumed any of the affected batches and present symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, or fever are advised to seek medical attention. The importance of extreme hygiene measures to prevent cross-contamination is also reminded.
Although distribution has been limited to Andalusia, the information has been forwarded to the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN).
